parodies
Shaun of the dead probably has to be my most favorite film.
restormed once again
No news of any historical houses or any houses with some character available for us, without some ridiculous catch.
SO,
back the drawing board. All i can say at this point is, I hope this is the last time.
However, with Nada's idea of using our Medical room to film in. We felt that itd be a perfect place to film either a thriller or parody.
Theres a selections of ideas, we thought of from just standing in the room. Even though, sounding a little cliche, The medical room really gave off a great eerie atmosphere.

+ Historical Houses,
We're desperately trying to find some locations which would be suitable for shooting our film. Today, We spent emailing and ringing some Houses to see if it would be possible to film there.
We're just waiting for the replies, which will hopefully mean that we can start shooting soon

Forty Hall Was A 'No Go'
Unfortunately, Forty Hall is shutting down for renovation until 2012. Which means that we can't base our film in that location.

"Watch Out!"
This is a clip that i created from a BBC film. I looked at the film and tried create something that was totally different from the original piece. In order to prove that I am capable of using 'IMovie' this was created. Today, We visited CLC which is where we were taught 'new tricks' to the software.

To Pass The Time..
Tasha & I produced this little clip of some takes, We probably would not use in our final peice. For now, these are our bloopers!
...I still can't get over the fact about how windy it was.

SE7EN
On fridays lesson, 6th Oct 2010, We watched the whole of se7en. Eventhough ridiculously scary, its helped me understand that not all films need popular music, as se7ens uses nothing but music specially created for the film. This encouraged me to have more enthuasim for our filming as we have to do the same, as we cannnot use any music copyrighted.
Also, I beleive the film was well shown as stupidly i beleived i worked out the film's ending half way through - yet, i was embarrasingly put to shame because i was unbeleivably incorrect.
Lastly, Its made me understand how beautiful brad pitt actually is. :o

Oh, and one more thing, To anyone to hasn't watched this, (which hopefully is none of you), that last picture basically gives away the whole film... Bet you're gutted now?
We Actually Made It To Southend!
(Please don't judge, We forgot our cameras, So we had to rely upon Blackberrys 3.2 'awful' megapixel camera... But none the less, This is our proof)
Me & Tasha went to southend for the day, Even though sligtly windy, I beleive we managed to gain some good footage. To make extra sure, that our trip was not wasted, We filmed everything atleast twice. Admittedly, fairly difficult too film steadily with the wind, we tried to film in places with as little wind as possible - for example, hiding behind a shed.
We used the Southend Pier like we said, Which luckily had no visitors on except us. Which means that we don't have to worry about any intruders in our filming, and also means that our film will look like the pier is deserted. Hopefully, this will help add some mysterious to our filming.

'The Potatoes' In Action
As time is of an essence, We've been messing around with different shots what we thought would be ideal for our final peice. We changed the lighting on some certain clips, and We learnt how to edit music, add font, and edit and cut film.
We came up with this, Even though it has no plot, whatsoever, We are quite pleased with it, as its proving our skills.
The song was chosen because we felt it fitted in with our clips, as We sped most of them up because the felt like creating a short and upbeat film.
Preliminary Exercise
Its because of this, We've been labeled with a name of 'The Potatoes'. Of course, We aren't planning on using that as our finishing name, but it'd do for the time being.
I beleive that if i was to re-do this clip, I would make it more interesting by recording with some new angles. For example, An birds-eye, Over the head shot would make it interesting, and give the Audience a sense of power. When Nada walks in, We could have followed her feet walking, Which may have looked effective as sends out an intriging image.
I beleive that the problem with this clip is that it remains with the same shot for most of the time. Even though, We start with a panning shot and follow Nada to the center, We then follow with two face shots
, It doesn't make it look as interesting as can be. From 00:10 onwards We choose to use the same shot, which - for future reference - may loose the audiences interest.

Our Proposal
And from this, We have the basis of our film. Eventhough, the idea of running alone may not seem very interesting.. We are thinking about having background noises, such as whispering which helps build up a mysterious atmosphere.
The start to the 'New Group'
The group I am working with has been formed, and consists of Myself, Katrina, Natasha and Nada. Over the weeks, we've constructed many different ideas for films.
Orginally, we decided that we wanted to remain different. Therefore to persue a unqiue touch, we planned to create a 'brit' film. In which, we found ourselves, peicing different characters together creating a 'scruffy and british' styled film. We planned and thought about certain characters outside of our group, worthy to be filmed. As we beleived that, the characters needed had to contain the very same unique style, we aimed for. As time went by, We discovered that our idea verged on the 'cheesy' side, ad we soon later, pushed the idea to aside and left it.
After viewing the start to 'The Hole', Our group started fresh and tried to keep everything as simple as can be. As, We beleived that the simplicity was more effective.
Unfortunately, Our new idea appears to be classed within a thriller or horror, Yet we are currently trying to keep our film to verge away from a scary movie, as we understand that its been created faarrrrr too many times before.

I am back.
Admittedly, Eventhough, My blogs been a little abandoned for a while, I am back, and a little more experienced than i was before.
Its taken a while; but you will be pleased to know, there's been so much progress!

My Sisters Keeper
This is the opening scene to "My Sisters Keeper" (0:21 - 2:39)
I picked to anaylise this scene as I adore how the scene is so delicate and simply shown. I think that as it is such a gentle scene, Its more powerful in touching the audiences emotions.
Its start off with a quite a fuzzy recording of what then leads to the sky. The fuzzy recording hazes through a selection of rich blues and lightly faded colour blues. Already a relaxed tone is being portrayed through the idea of colour imagary. Carrying on the idea of relaxed and mellow, Its followed by a Kite flying in the sky, with occasional reflections of the sun. The simple looking scenery appears quite heavenly, which helps the Audience relate back to 'heaven and peace'. I think that, they tried to relate to a peaceful place at the start of the film, so that they could foreshadow a subtle idea of what may happen.
A character starts speaking over the recording, in a exceedingly gentle voice. The voice remains quite clear, However without whispering creates a sense of innocence. Eventhough, the audience understand the importance to listen, They never meet the character speaking until later on.
Still remainly gentle and delicately, The clip of the sky dissapears and changes into a selection of Human Body Cells. Eventhough, the images appearance doesnt seem peaceful, The melody in the background helps remain the viewers of the tranquility being set. The music repeats playing, underneath the characters voice at a much quietier level. I think that the music helps makes the scene melt together and flow smoothly, which i beleive is vital whilst emphasizing the idea of peace.
Slowly, Dated recordings are being shown to the audience, Of a young family. As the scene progresses, The family gets older. It appears to look like memories, and eventually they are getting more recent. Showing an idea of looking into the past, also reinforces the idea of peace moreso.
The font used for the credits is in a delicate font style and remains still. It's a white colour, which can represent the idea of peace. The font fades in and fades out which makes it appear very delicate and dainty to the viewers watching.
Se7en
This is the opening to the film Se7en, Which is known to starr Actors such as, Brad Pitt & Morgan Freeman.
The track playing in the background remains quiet and slow, giving off a unhurried and creeping atmosphere. Making sure that the soundtrack doesnt overpower the scene, by becoming too powerful, helps create an eerie sense to the scene. Falsing this idea of a eerie setting apon the audience helps build up the tension. Can then lead to the Audience, gaining a strong focus within the first few minutes of the film.
Having very slow and gradual moving clips, for exmaple the pages turning of the book, can also help emphasize a certain sense of tension. With very little quick and brisk moving clips, allows the atmosphere to remain highly chilling to the audience. Which then added together can gradually build up the anxiety, which is hoped to shown.
The blurred font, Which creates the credits, follows the same style throughout. The white colour agaisnt the dark background helps states itself, more clearly. This then helps it stand out and be obvious to the audience. The font also helps breaks up each clip. Breaking the clips up, and creating gaps can show an idea of uncomfortable and awkwardness. This is good as it can help to build the tension furthmore, by making the audience recognise that its not 'running smoothly'. The sharp movements of the lettering also bring a frighting idea to the film, as they appear to be very unsettling.
During the whole of the scene, The audience do not meet any of the characters faces. Keeping the audience 'in the dark' helps create a idea of mystery, which leads to bring curiousity to the viewers. Making sure that the audience are curious allows them to want to know more; which pushes them to carry on watching the film.
Eventually, As the scene comes to a close, The music and the clips begin to speed up. Doing so helps, highten the tension, and implies the idea of the scene reaching its climax. Its from there, where the film can suddendly drop the climax, creating a 'cliff hanger', or allows a certain event which may start the film off...
