With no surprises...

We eventually decided to scrap our 'Before I Die' idea totally and go back to the drawing board.


And it was during mid conversation of how freaky looking our school is, We realised we'd stupid not to involve the school in our film. As before, we felt that our ideas were too outgoing and flamboyant, with trips to southend......That filming in our school might actually lead us to having a film that is somewhat acceptable. Because of whole freakiness of our school, We felt that it was needed to create a thriller. We'd previously decided on creating a thriller, so that we already were siting on a basis of research.

However..

I then watched a film called 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. the world', and even though the plot isn't relevant. The way it had been edited really got me thinking. The film is based around a comic book, and its been edited how that font has been used to emphasize objects. Such as, when the phone rung it would say 'Ring'

And how in this picture, the sound waves are shown. Yet, More importantly, the film has been editied in a 'stop animation' style. As the camera skips from face to face, and hardly ever uses a panning shot.


And because i had been exposed to this new way of editing, I quite innocently noticed the same style in the TV programe 'Secret Diary of a Call girl'. Which made me realise that the camera doesnt always have to represent a human eye.

Failure

After filming all the footage for our 'Before I Die' idea, we had to come to the conclusion that it wasnt looking very successful. As we we're scared to scrap the whole idea, - yet again - we tried to rethink the base of it. We slowly adapted it into an idea of A character (Katrina) being on youtube, and talking to all her 'fans', but in contrast is really lonely outside of her internet stardom. We felt that would be easiest as it would only need simple shots, because our camera would act as a webcam.

For research we looked at previous media students, and we found this from 'Hurtwood House'

We felt that it would be fun to create something like this with such interesting effects. We were also very keen to do something like that, as we were shown this at a conference and we all remembered it to be our favourite.

We're planning on having a close up shot of our character injecting herself. Even though, this sounds a little dangerous - We aiming for a quite effective shot.

Welcome To My Bedroom....

- I felt this was needed as i felt like i was on the show, itself...
but nethertheless.. "Welcome to my Crib."

Im not showing you my bedroom for fun, This is where we are planning on filiming our media piece, as we think that it looks like a average teenage girls room.

For The Last Time,

I will be saying; That we have a NEW IDEA. It probably has not come with any shock, that we are starting fresh once again, yet I think we've found a suitable and do-able idea this time. As, all our previous idea's have come across a little far fetched and impossible to do, so this time we've tried to remain as simple as our little brains go.

We're all keen English students, and we felt that it'd be a suitable idea to put something into our film, that we enjoy. As it was proving difficult to create a horror with little to no knowledge on them (forgive me for not being a keen supporter to thrillers).



Before I Die - Jenny Downham
This is the very book, that we were inspired from. Yet again, it seems a little impossible considering its based around a Cancer victim, we decided that we would be focusing on the start of the book.

To do so, Our idea is to film a character, Olivia, which will be played by Katrina, to be writing on a wall. In the clip, she will be wearing Headphones and be writing a list. It won't be clear to the audience, what the list is for. However, We will also film certain medical equipment, which may give sublte hints.

We have a collection of ideas to what we can do with this, and for now, all seems well.
